The National Flood Insurance Program is based on the federal program that provides coverage and help to those experiencing flood losses. Consumers would generally not consider going without homeowner insurance, but they may completely overlook the risk they face from flooding. Floods can happen anywhere, not just in flood plains. As a result, this course looks at who needs to consider buying flood insurance.
